About Us
Meet the Founder
My name is Janea A. Young and I am the founder of ONE STEP FORWARD, THE MOVEMENT. Once considered a victim, I am a 4 year Domestic Violence survivor. I am newly married, mother and author of the book, "Janea's Journey, Breaking the Chains of Domestic Violence".
I noticed as I was going through counseling, there were not very many support groups I could reach out to in between sessions. That is when I came up with the idea of creating ONE STEP FORWARD, THE MOVEMENT. OSFTM was birth out of my passion of wanting to help others, like myself, navigate life after Domestic Violence. My goal is to encourage women, men & young adults that in order to move ONE STEP FORWARD, you must Heal your Hurts & Find Peace💜
HEALING HURTS
It's hard to move ONE STEP FORWARD when you are carrying all of this baggage and let's face it, when involved in a domestic violent relationship, not only are you carrying this baggage, you are also carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders. Minds are clouded and decisions cannot be made.
But in order to begin to drop the baggage, and the weight of the world and to be able to make sound decisions, you must be able to let it all go and HEAL.
And it during this Healing process where we admit there is a problem. That is the first step of HEALING. OSFTM focuses on helping those with healing with encouraging words and letting victims know they are survivors and will make it through this.
One Step Forward, The Podcast
One Step Forward, The Movement, would like to announce its very first podcast. We are going to touch on every aspect of DV from physical abuse all the way down to financial abuse.
Remember, the goal of OSFTM is to help Heal Hurts and Find Peace. By getting to and addressing the root of the problem, will ultimately help you to heal your hurt & Find Your Peace!
